Car #2 Work Scope

Sept. 16th - I can’t believe it.  It’s almost done.  I purchased this car in August of 2004.  It was in terrible shape as nothing under the hood or mechanical seemed to work properly.  There was so much bad work done on this car it was scary.  There was no way I was going to jeopardize my safety and others by driving this car the way it was.  Of course I didn’t realize the condition when I purchased it so naturally I paid too much.

I decided to let someone else fix it since I had no room in my garage nor did I have the time to fool with two cars.  It was at a high-end place for 2 weeks before I yanked it from them.  They turned their noses up at my old car and were more interested in fixing Posches and BMWs.  I then found a  place that specialized in old Mustangs and Fords.  They were glad to get the opportunity but did absolutely nothing for a long time.  That was in November of 2004.

I was in no hurry but I still wanted progress.  I finally played hooky from work for close to a month and went to that shop everyday until it was able to be driven away.  I just drove it away two weeks ago.  It is 90% finished but still needs some adjustments.  Below is some of the things that have been done to this now very nice car.

Probably other things I’m forgetting...you get the point

Here is what it still needs:

Windows adjusted properly

Floor pans—I noticed that a previous owner had used pop-rivets to put new metal over the rust holes in the floor pan. (good work dumbass)  They do not leak, but it needs to have floor pans properly installed for the long-term...like welded.

The front-end needs new bushings and ball joints.

November 22 - It’s road ready!  I just got it back from a shop where the timing and carburetor were adjusted and some brake work was done.  It’s still not perfect but it will do for right now.  I’m having a hard time deciding if and when I want to sell it.  Of course,  if the money is right anything is for sale.
